All animals deserve compassionate veterinary care. Our experienced team in Houston, Texas is your source for trusted pet care. We understand that your pet is part of the family and it is our goal to care for your pet in and out of our office. This is why we offer comprehensive services to meet all of your pet's wellness needs.
Our state of the art facility is fully equipped to meet your pet's health care needs. Because we offer "whole pet" care in addition to our western services, we also provide eastern medical services to offer a more complete, holistic approach. At your examination, our veterinarian will perform a detailed examination, suggest any labs that may be necessary and discuss whether your pet is up to date on their vaccination schedule. We will also discuss your pet's behavior, overall well-being at home, whether they are receiving enough exercise and any nutritional counseling that may be necessary at the time. This is a great time to ask any questions you have- we want to be sure we help you care for your pet beyond our office doors. If you have questions concerning their food, bathroom habits, behavior, hydration tips, we encourage our pet owners to feel welcome to ask during our exams.
In some cases your pet may have been injured or require surgery beyond routine care. It is these circumstances that Veterans Memorial Drive Animal Hospital is equipped to help your pet with. To offer maximum healing and prevention of recurring injury we use a safe and effective laser therapy technique for soft tissue surgeries. This procedure seals nerve and lymphatic tissue to reduce post-operative pain and fluid that would otherwise cause swelling. After laser surgery is complete, tissues are strengthened helping your pet return to their normal activities with reduced risk of future injury. We also use this type of therapy to reduce scarring and infection. We also provide several forms of canine rehabilitation to help your pet heal following surgery.
When your pet may be experiencing an internal medical issue we use diagnostic ultrasound to sense changes to tissues by observing size and density. This can be used to evaluate heart issues, certain cancers, gallbladder and liver, kidney and bladder shape and size to look for potential blockages in the digestive and urinary systems.
We also are proud to offer holistic animal services that cover your pet's genetic, dietary, emotional, relationship, hygienic and stress factors. Once we evaluate these aspects we can optimally determine the root cause of your pet's health concerns. We provide ozone therapy, acupuncture and nutritional counseling to address the root cause of illness. Acupuncture can be used for whole body wellness, but is commonly used to address digestive, emotional, surgical healing and respiratory issues.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Veterans Memorial Drive Animal Hospital for a visit soon!
